Another story Jesus told
To thaw the hearts of lawyers cold
The desert road to Jericho
As everyone was sure to know
Hides robbers under every rock
So far the story held no shock
These bandits left a man half-dead
Into the road his life-blood bled
Along the path there came a priest
Who thought the beaten man deceased
He did not stop or break his stride
But passed by on the other side
Then down the road a Levite came
Who held his nose and did the same
But then the naked, broken man
Was seen by a Samaritan
He dressed his wounds with oil and wine
He saved his life and in good time
He brought him to a resting place
And in a stunning act of grace
For convalescence too he paid
And so the wounded man was saved
If life eternal is your plan
Then follow the Samaritan
