The Bay of Pigs

A legion of demons....

Had occupied the vacant heart

Of one poor man who lived apart

Among the dead with wails and screams

His strength gave grown men evil dreams

On foreign shore they beached their craft

Among the tombs the demons laughed

Until the Prince of Life arose

And silenced all his cackling foes

Be gone, you horde of vermin, go!

Into the swine and I will show

Who calms the sea, who rules the waves

Who conquers evil and who saves

Be gone! Be gone! And don’t return

This man is mine and you will learn

No power of hell can take its stand

Against the rescue I have planned

The swine flew off the craggy cliff

The swineherds scattered, fled, scared stiff

The villagers were quite perplexed

The demon-fested man was hexed

But now he sat at Jesus’ feet

His sanity returned, complete

Be gone, you Jewish gang, be gone!

T’was well before you came along

The quiet man at Jesus’ feet

Now begged him, make my joy complete

Please, let me follow you and see

Your kingdom come round Galilee

Not now, my friend, please go and tell

Your folk the Lord has made you well

And all around the eastern shore

Good news abounded more and more

The bay of pigs they left behind

And sailed for home only to find

A fevered girl near death, in pain

A bleeding woman nursing shame

Twelve years of innocence and grief

He rescued both to their relief

He cured the sick, he raised the dead

He ruled the waves, the demons fled
