The rendezvous by Galilee Was Jesus’ planned out strategy Now Peter and six other men Went fishing until dawn and then
They heard a voice call from the shore
No fish? The other side has more!
And so they cast the nets out right
And were dumbfounded by the sight
A shoal of fish so large and strong
Began to drag their boat along Then someone said it was the Lord
So Peter leapt off overboard The others brought the catch ashore Their voices low, they said no more “Now come have breakfast!” said the Lord
Hot bread and fish their warmth restored
The charcoal into flames then burst The Lord asked Peter what came first
Boats and fish and morning breeze
Or do you love me more than these? And if you want the keys which lock
Then feed my sheep and tend my flock
Three times he asked, three times replied
As Peter grieved when he denied
At their first meeting Jesus bid “Come follow me!” and Peter did And now they walked along the beach
The Saviour had so much to teach
For forty days before he left He said they would not be bereft
He taught about his kingdom and He told them they could only stand
If they would wait for heaven’s power
The pow’r within from hour to hour
Then they would be his witnesses In all their kingdom businesses And then he soared into the cloud
Two angels spoke and told the crowd
This Jesus who has gone aloft
Will come again just as he left
